Last but not least

I do not have anything to offer but yeah you may eat the cake(↑). Dear blog visitor, I would like to announce that this will be my last entry. No, do not cry😢 because there will always be a chance that I would maybe in future write again. Yeah, maybe. 

In week 14th, we had to submit our courseware and we also had a quiz in the very last class. Alhamdulillah the courseware was sent on time but I was a bit disappointed that I forgot lots of things for my quiz. I am sorry madam. 

In this last entry, I would like to show my gratitude of all the input and guidance by my beloved lecturer Madam Azida. I have experienced a lot of new and captivating things through out taking this course/ subject. Now I know which websites would be useful for what purpose I have, and what should I do to upload my own podcast. I would say that this course is beneficial and helps me explore great things. With that, bye bye 

13th

So this week we learnt more about Smart-Builder. Since it was our first time using it, we need to know and learn many features. Even a single click could change your courseware. Oh.., did I tell you that we need to make/ produce our own courseware for our last assessment? If I did not tell you, now you know. It is so so interesting knowing that I could do the same thing as what other interactive learning programmes do. Even though it is interesting, there is so much work need to be done to make it look that way. Each page, each button and each click need to be planned meticulously.

Thankfully, my group mates were all cooperative and did their parts well. We encountered some problems and constraints but Madam Azida nicely gave her guidance in the class. Yeah that was it for this week. 

12th

This week Madam Azida taught us about a software called Smart-Builder. So, what is Smart-Builder? It is a software whereas instructional designers create interactive e-learning and mobile learning. Past two decades, people were hyping on interactive learning for example, in school when the students got their textbook or activity book, there was a CD on the last page of the book. The students can use the CD and try out the lessons, activities and exercises related to the syllabus. The point of this software is the same as the CD. So, Smart-Builder is exactly a software that provides opportunity to anyone who wants to produce an interactive learning.

The creator has absolute control over the design of a Smart-Builder. The creator can design a Smart-Builder that contains a lot number of screens and controls on each screen. The creator then instructs the Smart-Builder to perform any number of actions using the data entered by the writer in the Smart-Builder. Interesting isn't it? 😊😉

11th

In the previous week(10th), my friends and I learnt about insructional design. There are few names mentioned such as GAGNE 9 events, Dick & Carey, Rapid Prototyping, Guaranteed Learning, ASSURE and ARCS Model. Our lecturer, Madam Azida assigned us to make a group of five or six and present the selected topics. We have to create a poster and prepare questions regarding the topic.

My group presented about Guaranteed Learning. It is formerly known as 'Instructional Development Learning System'. It was founded by Peter J Esseff and his partner Mary Sullivan Esseff in 1970. The design synthesized existing theories(behaviorism, constructivism, cognitivism & social learning) to develop their approach. In 2015, Dr Esseffs created e-learning course and allow participants to take Guaranteed Learning course online. They also produced a book with the title 'How to Design, Develop & Validate Instructional Materials'.

We ended the presentation with few questions for our fellow classmates. In order to make it much interesting, we made it like a quiz by using a web called Kahoot. 

10th

Last week Madam Azida taught us about Instructional Design. I learnt that it is actually about creating instructional experiences and also figuring out the needs of the learner. It is an online development tool that is made from the analysis of learning needs and of course it is students' centered. 

It is now the trend as it represents a systematic development of instruction. It is also a great as it is measurable especially in assessing the success of the design. Okay I think that was all that I wrote in my book. It is not clear enough so I googled some more.

So...what is instructional design? 

Instructional design can be defined as the creation of instructional materials, modules or lessons. The process consists of determining the needs of the learners, defining the end goals and objectives of instruction, designing and planning assessment tasks, and designing teaching and learning activities to ensure the quality of instruction. One of the example is ADDIE Model.

Actually, the first time I heard about this topic, my reaction was like the gif above. But at least I got the hint correctly right 😉

Week 9

Informative Video

Week 8. Still about Powtoon. My classmates and I have to work in a group of three to do our next assignment. The topic is about a campaign, and all of us have to decide on what campaign that we are interested in. And for me and the other two of my groupmates, we chose to proceed with plogging. 

Plogging is actually a Swedish fitness trend that combines going for a run or jog with intermittent squatting or lunging to collect rubbish. This topic catch our attention for its like killing two birds with one stone. The message is not only we can stay fit and healthy by jogging but we also help our nature in becoming cleaner. I believe that this trend should be spread wider so that it could become a habit to everyone and at the same time reducing problems of uncontrollable rubbish or waste across the world.

The only part that I like in making the Powtoon is the script. I would be lying if I said that the second time would be easier. I wish I had more confidence. Nevermind. I did it already.
